Original vintage Swedish oil on canvas by Olle RHÖNNSTAD (1931-1988). Depicting an interior with a table in the foreground and a window in the background, this still life is built through loose brush strokes on canvas. RHÖNNSTAD used neutral colors – in particular browns, greys and black - punctuated by hues of blue and green. Light floods the room from the back, creating a shadow effect on the objects sitting on the table – two jars, a teacup, and a bowl with fruit.

Born in Arvika, Sweden, RHÖNNSTAD painted from an early age under the guidance of his father, who was also an artist. He later studied at the Academy of Fine Art in Oslo, and held both solo and group exhibitions at a number of art galleries in Sweden. His works are in the collection of multiple museums across Sweden, including in Karlstad and Arvika.
